I have been to Property many time to visit clients. They are well served and good PT Staff at La Paloma. Perfection is not possible, but there are caring staff, facility and grounds are tranquil and clean.

I was at La Paloma Healthcare Center for a cellulitis infection and to regain strength from dealing with the infection for a very long time. Were it not for the food, I might give a 5-star review, but the food was inexcusably bad. I, and others, ordered out, or had friends and family bring food. I was there for nutrition as well as healing – nutrition was not there for me. The staff was friendly and helpful on all occasions: For me, the CNAs, Nurses, Drs Yumiyyu Gammada, MD, and Jeffrey L.Newman were available, personable, knowledgeable, and helpful. The Physical Therapy and Occupational therapists were outstanding in their attentiveness to the patient which included their knowledge, creativity, and caring, personable treatment. I wish they had an outpatient extension! Also, to note: The lovely grounds! The backyard is beautifully kept and a serene place to walk (or roll!) about and just breathe. There are tables on the patio where patients and their guests can have picnics. Fran P.

I was here about 4 years ago, the care i got was amazing. I met so many amazing people who I truly felt that cared about my health and loved what they did and were not here for just a check. Some people including, Jacki Aguilar, Francisca Garcia, Silvia Sanchez, Monica, Alma Moralez, Jazmin Ramirez, Celia. I am truly grateful and if i could give more stars i would.

To everyone: my wife was recently taken to La Paloma (“the dove”) Healthcare Institue for recovery and therapy post surgery. An excellent experience, much more than was anticipated and expected! Skilled nursing with round-the-clock attention and assistance, the attention and care of four (!) doctors who studied and monitored my wife’s progress. Medicines and such immediately available as prescribed. A caring staff. Food quite good, and steps above routine hospital food! Post-surgery therapists were knowledgeable, considerate, and experienced. All in all, a professional staff with a very humane touch. My wife and I rate La Paloma Healthcare a full five stars and more. Thank you all so much!

🌟 Review for La Paloma Healthcare Center – Oceanside, CA During my two-year medical hiatus, La Paloma Healthcare Center became more than just a skilled nursing facility—it became a place of healing, consistency, and perseverance. From the moment I arrived, I felt a sense of hospitality and warmth that carried me through one of the most challenging chapters of my life. 🏥 Facility & Comfort The center itself is bright, clean, and thoughtfully designed. The photos reflect what I experienced daily: open spaces, comfortable rooms, and inviting common areas that feel less like an institution and more like a home. The gardens and gathering areas provided a sense of peace and normalcy, which was invaluable during recovery. 👩‍⚕️ Staff & Care The staff at La Paloma embody the word family. Nurses, CNAs, therapists, and coordinators were not only professional but also deeply compassionate. Their attentiveness was consistent—day after day, month after month. They didn’t just provide medical care; they offered encouragement, patience, and genuine human connection. That enduring support gave me the strength to persevere. 💙 Hospitality & Support What stood out most was the way the team treated me as a whole person, not just a patient. They balanced medical excellence with emotional support, ensuring I always felt heard and respected. Whether it was physical therapy, daily routines, or simply sharing a kind word, their commitment never wavered. 🌿 A Place of Healing La Paloma is not just a healthcare facility—it’s a community built on trust, care, and resilience. For me, it was a place where perseverance was nurtured, where comfort was prioritized, and where I was able to rebuild my strength with dignity. ✨ Final Thoughts I am profoundly grateful for the excellent, consistent, and enduring care I received here. La Paloma Healthcare Center will always hold a special place in my story of recovery, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone seeking a facility where compassion and professionalism walk hand in hand.

The anger and disgust I have at this moment for this facility is palpable. A family member was taken here after suffering a stroke. He is full Navajo, and his hair was completely shaved off without his consent. A simple conversation to trim it if needed could have been done, but he was treated as a dirty, unkempt old man instead of the family elder that he is. Family was able to move him to a better facility, but it’s heartbreaking when he asks to braid his hair and then remembers it’s gone. He also has bed sores and has lost a lot of weight. The negligence he endured is reflected in his appearance and health. I pray we are not too late to help him recuperate from the stroke.

I don’t usually write reviews but I am pleased to write this one. I was discharged from La Paloma last week after spending 3 months there. I was admitted there due to an infection in both legs caused by weeping lymphedema. I also had a stage 4 open wound on my left heel. Thanks to the amazing wound care team Sharon, Jonna and Zachary, the infection is cleared up and my legs have stopped weeping for the first time in years. I am very grateful to them. Being there for so long, I got to know the staff pretty well. They are a wonderful group of people. The nurses and CNAs work very hard to care for their patients and they are also fun to be around. They made my stay very pleasurable. I’m not a person that likes to exercise but the OT and PT teams made therapy a lot of fun. I actually looked forward to my daily sessions with them. If the need ever arises, I would return to La Paloma without any hesitation.

Had a patient stay and said a specific nurse was rude and mean. I spoke with her once as well and had the same experience, they should really train their staff better in being more empathetic with the patients they care for

My father went to this nursing home for literally 5 days. I went everyday to check on him. When he complained that he was in pain from not being able to go to the bathroom I then intervened. I made them call a medic to transport my father and I sent him to scripts Encinitas. Needless to say from the care at La Paloma he was in the hospital another 7 days. I will never recommend this place. I highly urge anyone who has to have their family member here to be moved. This place is horrible.

Business response 1 year ago

Dear Tasha, We are truly sorry to learn about what your father went through and the stress it caused your family. Your concerns are very important to us and do not reflect the level of care we aim to provide. Please know that we are looking into what happened during your father’s stay so we can better understand the situation and make sure any issues are addressed. At La Paloma, our top priorities are keeping our patients safe, maintaining their dignity, and ensuring their comfort. We will share your feedback with our leadership team to help us improve. We would also appreciate the chance to talk with you directly—your thoughts are important to us, and we want to learn from every experience. Kayvon, Tyler and Jennifer paid me $4000 to discharge on the day after my birthday Nov 26 2024, despite still not being able to stand up on my own. Rehab Coordinator Tyler yelled at me and said, “you’re not getting any more physical therapy!”. Social Worker Jennifer grabbed the phone out of my hands and ran down the hall. Kayvon told me to shut up. Overall, this is an illegal practice called patient dumping. Even before that, Ashley Lemus gave me paperwork that she had made up in order to convince me I was being discharged. If you are intelligent, they do not like that because of all the laws they break. Employees are aware but afraid to speak up. Originally, they were going to give me a hotel room for 2 days and a wheelchair, with zero care meetings with doctors (the assigned Dr. Elias didn’t even know who I was.) once they realized I had been keeping track of their activities and I had called State, they became afraid.

Run if they want to put you in there. I was suppose to be there 1 month but only lasted 2 weeks. Just a terrible experience Instead of leaving a long review I will just lowlight my experience….. CNA’S – THE WORST EXCEPT FOR A COUPLE. TIMELY RESPONSE- ALMOST NEVER… DOCTORS- SEEMED TO BUSY TO REALLY CARE… ADMINISTRATION- I THINK THEY TRIED BUT CAME UP SHORT ON TO MANY OCCASIONS FOOD- I WOULDNT FEED MY DOG WHAT THEY TRIED TO GIVE US ALL… ROOM- I WAS PUT IN WITH A DEMENTIA CASE WHO YELLED ALL THE TIME. PT- NOW THAT WAS PRETTY GOOD BUT EVEN THERE THERE WAS A COUPLE OF SLACKERS. I want to spotlight a LVN who worked the Graveyard Shift. She has no business in Healthcare, totally lacked compassion and just rude. I watched as the other man in my room had things that needed to be changed or him soiling himself with no one coming to help him. They just put a blanket on him and told him to wait til morning. Totally unacceptable!! I know it’s hard to find good people to work these days but the ones you do find need to be trained on a much higher level. We are talking about people’s lives!! So I blame HR for not following through to make sure the people they hire are trained to the best of their ability. We are in trouble as us Baby Boomers are the largest part of the population and this is not good. So I give this place a 0 and hope they all work to get better. I could go in to more detail but think you all get the idea of this place….

It’s been 2-1/2 months since I first was admitted into La Paloma Health Center 2 days after I suffered a stroke at the age of 65 years old, and I really had my doubts coming here as to the future of my well-being. At the present time my therapist Diane Andrea Becky have been top notch professional, educated, and truly committed to my full recovery during my stay here. I am very grateful to the staff for my success, thank you. I still have work to do. CNA to thank you all …Susan MERLE ANDREA ANA TORI LESLIE BLANCA MY NURSE AND GIL MIGUEL VICCI and also Jessica, Tammie and Erika in the Activities Department.
